SLK Entertainment Launches New Website
2006-10-24

Welcome to the new SLK Entertainment website! We're happy to announce two new signings to our company roster, Bad Fathers and The Catz In The Hatz. Here are the latest happenings with SLK …

Bad Fathers are touring the southwest and will be playing their first Los Angeles show on November 9th at 10:30pm at the Gig on Melrose. Come down and see what all of the buzz surrounding this Iowa sextet is about. We're expecting a great night and a cool crowd as this will be their first show in LA. Every ticket that is purchased prior to the show will come with a FREE copy of their CD, “Angels In The Chamber,” which can also be found online at iTunes and all major online retailers.

The Catz In The Hatz will release their debut album, “Resilience” on Rhombus Records on All Hallows Eve (Oct 31st). You can pick up your copy at any record store, online at www.rhombus-records.com or on iTunes. Be sure to listen to their album on your local mainstream jazz station. They are going for ads in every major market with the songs "Slow Down Jimmy," "Into The Smooth," and "Lucky So and So" so call up your local jazz stations and request the Catz!

Chris Parish will be playing two solo shows in the LA area this next month featuring three news songs, and tracks off his 2006 release, “Late Bloomer.” Come down and check him out at his birthday show on Nov 3 at Genghis Cohen at 9pm. We will be celebrating with him and drinking the night away! Drinks on Chris! His next show will be Dec 3rd at Monroe’s at 9pm. Stay tuned for his forthcoming music video due out in January, and his upcoming tour schedule. Chris Parish and the Insomniacs will be hitting the road early ’07 playing shows throughout Texas and the southeast. You can pick up your copy of “Late Bloomer” at Amoeba Records, Tower Records, and www.chrisparish.com or iTunes.

Five songs off of Lee Newman’s 2006 release, “Happy Together, The ‘60s Songbook” will be featured in the independent film, “Made in Brooklyn,” produced by Jack Lippman. Lee has also joined forces with the March of Dimes, www.marchofdimes.com, which he has become a spokesperson for; appearing at many of their events to perform and talk about his great-grandfather, Eddie Cantor, and his connection with the foundation. You can pick up your copy of Lee’s CD at Amoeba Records, Tower Records, and www.leenewman.com or iTunes.

Saturday’s Child are stepping back into the studio in November to start tracking the ten new songs they have been writing over the past year. The Sat Child boys toured the southwest earlier this year on their way to play SXSW, promoting their 2006 re-release of ‘Kill the Cat” and their DVD, “Tour de Rawk,” both can be found at all major online retailers and www.ourbandrocks.com. This will be their first trip back into the studio since getting off of the road.

Carter William Humphrey is currently working on three separate projects. Carter is tracking on Soloman Burke Junior’s second, yet untitled album. Soloman Burke Sr. even stopped by for a day to produce one of his son's tracks. Carter is also mixing the last five songs on Karl Dietel (from the Samples) solo record, and putting the finishing touches on Listing Ship’s third CD (True Classical CDs) which should be done by the end of October. Starting in November, Carter will begin working on Saturday’s Child next album.
